We are looking for a qualified social worker with a commitment to improving partnership working and providing a multi-agency response to children who have disabilities including those in need of protection. We are committed to attracting, retaining and developing a diverse and skilled workforce to support Children, Young People and their families. Children with Complex NeedsThe Complex Needs team are highly regarded by parents and colleagues across Trafford and wider who work closely with parents, school and the community to help parents raise the most challenging children. The Complex Needs (children social care) Team work with children and young people with disabilities and their families providing short breaks, Child in Need, child protection and care proceedings. The work is varied and all your skills as a social worker will be called upon
The team works with a wide range of children and young people with disabilities across the borough up to the age of 18. The service provides support to children with challenging behaviours, autism, learning disabilities, epilepsy and complex health and physical disabilities.
The Complex Needs team supports children with disabilities to remain at home whenever possible and for as long as possible. We are looking for people who can adopt an innovative approach to supporting children's social care and ensure continuity of care to our vulnerable service users. You will have a sound knowledge of legislation relevant to the posts and demonstrable insight into the issues facing children, young people and families. With strong communication and assessment skills, you will have the ability to develop effective working relationships with families and colleagues from various agencies.
The personWith a recognised social work qualification and current HCPC registration, you will have the ability to demonstrate knowledge of a range of social work skills, methods and techniques appropriate to children with disabilities and their families. You will have knowledge and understanding of the diverse needs of children and young people with complex needs. It is essential that you have strong communication and assessment skills and the ability to develop effective working relationships.
